Circular Quay Romance

Circular Quay has always been an amazing place to get wedding photos. From Circular Quay, the rocks, which is one of the most popular and most photographed wedding locations in Sydney, is accessible, and Circular Quay is also right next to the Sydney Opera House. What is often forgotten, however, is that the part of Circular Quay in between these two areas is also beautiful. Recently, I did a romance-themed shoot right in the middle of Circular Quay.

Sydney Weddings | Mari & Tim

Tim was originally from Sydney, but moved away to the US for college. While he was over there, he met Mari and they held their wedding over there. While they now live in the US, they decided they wanted to have a reception in Australia for everyone in this end of the world.

Their reception, however, was as international as their story, and there were guests from numerous countries including Singapore, Malaysia, and South Korea.

Their reception was held at the Imperial Peking Restaurant at the Rocks. The Imperial Restaurant has an amazing view of the harbour. The Rocks was a really beautiful place to have our short portrats session as well, especially because Mari had never been to The Rocks before.

Sydney Weddings | Adore Wedding Bridal

I’ve been working on a number of different things lately but it’s always fun when I get a chance to collaborate. Recently I worked with the talented make-up artist Janet Yong on a shoot in Hyde Park, as well as St Mary’s Cathedral in the middle of Sydney. The dresses were provided by Adore Wedding.

Hyde park and St Mary’s Cathedral are both great places to have pre-wedding or bridal photo shoots.

I’ve only recently worked with the Adore Wedding team once or twice but they’ve always been really great. Adore Wedding is a bridal store specialising in Japanese style weddings. They do everything from dress rental/purchase to make-up and hair styling, and they have a very experienced team. Their makeup and hair stylist Wendy has worked in the Japanese bridal industry for years.

Sydney Wedding Photography | Todd and Kathryn

Sydney Weddings

Todd and Kathryn had a small ceremony in a small but beautiful park in McMahons Point looking out onto the Sydney Harbour Bridge. McMahons Point is a great place to have a wedding because there is a great view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge from there. The day was a overcast (and it started raining just as the ceremony ended) so everyone was a bit worried but the clouds made the light so soft and feathery the photos turned out great.

You can also see Luna Park from McMahons Point so for all those who want to have a wedding with just a hint of the carnival atmosphere McMahons Point is a fantastic location.

I love how the garden in McMahons Point opened up into a wide open view of the city. There aren’t many other places where you can have a quiet, small wedding ceremony in a relaxed atmosphere while still having a view of the city skyline

Sydney Wedding Photography | Carlo and Grace

Sydney Weddings

Carlo and Grace had an amazing wedding at the beautiful Miramare Gardens in the end of April and I felt privileged to be able to officially work with Gennelle from Bailey Photography. Both Carlo and Grace were so nice and relaxed and you could tell they were really enjoying being able to share their special day with a small and intimate group of friends and family.

Miramare Gardens, Terrey Hills

Grace originally wanted to have a garden wedding but had to move the ceremony indoors because of rain in the morning. Luckily Miramare Gardens cater both to indoor and outdoor weddings and there was a room with huge windows to let all the lovely sunlight in
