In retrospect

September 8, 2009

As the storage space I need constantly grows I’ve been cleaning out my archives and it’s interesting how different some of my selections from photo shoots would be if I did them today. Here’s a few that didn’t make the first cut

Tiny Litte Lanes

August 29, 2009

sydney isn’t really known for our small moody lanes or our artistic architecture (the bridge and the opera house aside). That’s more characterstic of Melbourne. Although, I’ve walked around Sydney a lot and I’ve never seen this before. Just a thought.

Port Macquarie Photography

April 11, 2009

I’ve posted up quite a few portraits recently so I thought i should go with something a bit different this time so I’m going with these shots at the beach. Simon loves swimming. In summer he goes swimming even at 5pm when it’s getting kind of dark and people are starting to go home. He was planning on doing surfing lessons a while back, but that’s still in the pipelines. In the meantime, there’s always body surfing. And nobody does that better than Simon. Seriously! We were in Port Macquarie and I decided to take my camera out and have a little bit of fun.

I think he slipped. The water was really warm though so he decided to lie in it for a while

Ly and Mai

March 4, 2009

Their whole family is moving down to Melbourne soon because of the new job (nice to see that the economic crisis isn’t affecting everyone) so they asked for some photos of their now extended family before they leave. Mai is now about 2 months old and she still sleeps quite a lot.

While I was waiting for Mai to wake up I took a few photos of Ly. She eats a lot now. She ate about 6 cherries and a whole banana. That’s a lot for a 1 year and 3 month old little girl isn’t it?

When Mai was ready we went into the garden for a little shoot in the awesome afternoon light

It’s funny watching Ly play with her little sister. She keeps going for Mai’s eyes. We’re not sure why but I think it might be an early case of sibling rivalry

What? I didn’t do anything

Inflation

February 19, 2009

It’s crazy what they can fit in a little camera these days. I was looking for a camera for a friend and I was amazed. The nikon P6000 has a whopping 13.5 megapixels and it’s only $560! Ok, that is a bit expensive for a compact camera, but the first digital camera ever my dad ever got was $1000 for 3.2 megapixels. That’s some serious improvement in only a few short years. Sounds like there are going to be quite a few storage upgrades soon.

Speaking of which, I was going through my memory cards and I found this. It came with my dad’s first digital camera.

That’s 16 megabytes not 16 gigabytes.
