Sydney Portraits | Just Because

October 21, 2009

Sometimes you just have to try something different. For this shoot we were a bit behind schedule so there was a bit of improvising going on. She wasn’t exactly sure what she wanted but she had the vague idea of shooting in an alley or some urban setting but since it was getting dark and we were in a park…

Once we started shooting however the park suddenly seemed like a good idea. Sometimes you have to go with the flow

Sydney Portraits | Say that again punk

September 25, 2009

The other day we had some spare time so we decided to play around with the camera. Gotta love Ray Bans.

By the way, if you look very closely you’ll see the cool ‘gangsta’ model sporting the 2009 season St. Johns First Aid Service belt. It’s mine i believe.

Melbourne Wedding Photography | John & Cecile (Part 1)

September 12, 2009

As far as relationships go it doesn’t get much harder than this one was. John was an ice hockey player from Minnesota Cecile was busy studying business in Melbourne. Earlier this week they decided to celebrate their love and their long journey in style and they really did deserve it.

Marcus Bell from Studio Impressions Photography was also there as the commissioned photographer.  Click HERE to see Studio Impression’s photos and very awesome slideshow from Cecile’s wedding.

In retrospect

September 8, 2009

As the storage space I need constantly grows I’ve been cleaning out my archives and it’s interesting how different some of my selections from photo shoots would be if I did them today. Here’s a few that didn’t make the first cut

Tiny Litte Lanes

August 29, 2009

sydney isn’t really known for our small moody lanes or our artistic architecture (the bridge and the opera house aside). That’s more characterstic of Melbourne. Although, I’ve walked around Sydney a lot and I’ve never seen this before. Just a thought.

SBHS v Scots

August 23, 2009

Sydney played a lot better this week. They used the width of the pitch well and were rewarded with two goals. The Scots defence was a bit scrappy and struggled to deal with attacks coming in from the wings. To their credit, though, Scots looked to have the edge in aerial play but failed to exploit this advantage. Final Score 2-0 to Sydney Boys.

Right from the start  Sydney were pushing forward deep into the Scots defensive half

A lot of Sydney’s attacks started out wide

Scots’ goal keeper was unluck not to clear the ball and ended up conceeding a goal

SBHS v SJC

August 16, 2009

St Josephs College vs Sydney Boys.  It was a tight game and it really could have gone either way. There was good play out wide by both teams and a good build up, especially by SJC. This was also a special occasion for Sydney - With their Firsts Rugby team disappearing this was the first time ever that the Sydney Boys First and Second division Opens football teams were allowed to play on the number one field. Unfortunately Sydney’s defence was just caught out of positions a few times in the match and that’s what cost them the game. Final Score 2-1 to SJC.

SJC looked to be dominant in the first few minutes of the game but Sydney Boys eventually settled in

Unfortunately it was SJC who recorded a goal first
The scoreline really doesn’t say much about Sydney Boy’s defence though. They were able to react pretty well to most situations

I’m not sure who’s more scared. The defender (blue and brown) or the goal keeper
